
Hongwei Zhang, male, born in November 1978, from Shandong Province, holds a PhD in Engineering, and serves as a Professor and Master's Supervisor. He received his doctoral degree in Mechanical Design and Theory from Beihang University in 2008. After completing his postdoctoral research at Beihang University in May 2010, he joined the School of Mechanical Engineering at Beijing institute of petrochemical technology, where he has been teaching ever since. He is currently the Director of the Fundamental Mechanical Education and Experimental Center and the Leader of the Outstanding Undergraduate Education Team of Beijing Universities.
His long-term research focuses on digital design and analysis technologies, surface strengthening, and fatigue-resistant manufacturing technologies. He has led or participated in more than 30 national-, provincial-, ministerial-, and enterprise-level projects. He has published over 60 academic papers, including nearly 30 indexed by SCI/EI. He has compiled three academic books and textbooks, and he holds three national patents and four software copyrights. He has been awarded the First Prize of the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award and the Second Prize of the National Commercial Science and Technology Progress Award.
