Yimin Sang



 

Yimin Sang, male, the Han nationality, born in Heze, Shandong Province, holds a Doctor of Engineering degree. He is a Professor, Professor-level Senior Engineer, National Registered Environmental Impact Assessment Engineer, and National Registered Safety Engineer. He serves as a Visiting Researcher at the National Engineering Laboratory for Safe Remediation of Contaminated Sites, an Off-Campus Graduate Supervisor at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, and a Graduate Supervisor in the Department of Environmental Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology.

I. Major Research Areas

His main research directions include groundwater and soil remediation, wastewater treatment and reuse, solid waste disposal and resource utilization, and environmental risk assessment. He concurrently holds multiple academic and professional positions, such as Director of the 8th Beijing Environmental Science Society, "Innovation and Striving" Science and Technology Worker of Beijing during the National Science and Technology Workers' Day (2021 and 2024), Review Expert for project approval and acceptance of national major science and technology projects (e.g., Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Environmental Comprehensive Governance National Science and Technology Major Project, National Key R&D Program), Review Expert for central ecological and environmental fund projects, Technology Assistance Expert of the National Ecological and Environmental Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Service Platform, Expert in the Expert Database of China National Petroleum Corporation's Technological Innovation Fund, Expert for Scientific and Technological Achievement Appraisal, and Expert in the Science and Technology Expert Databases of Beijing, Chongqing, Hebei, Zhejiang and other regions. He is also a member of expert committees including the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific (BCRC AP) Chemicals and Waste Environmental Management Think Tank, Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution (IPCP) of BCRC AP, International Soil Pollution Cooperation Organization of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Soil Remediation Professional Committee of China Chemical Environmental Protection Association, and Standardization Working Committee of Site and Groundwater Remediation of Zhongguancun Zhongxin Soil Remediation Industry Technology Innovation Alliance.

As the Principal Investigator (PI), he has undertaken and completed more than 20 vertical and horizontal scientific research projects, including sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program, National Science and Technology Tackling Program, National Environmental Protection Public Welfare Industry Scientific Research Special Project, Emergency Scientific Research Project for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Beijing Universities, and Excellent Talent Funding Project of Beijing Municipal Organization Department. He has published over 130 academic papers, including more than 80 as the first or corresponding author in journals such as J. Hazard. Mater. and J. Clean. Prod., with more than 50 indexed by SCI/EI and a single paper citation count exceeding 100. He holds 7 authorized national invention patents as the first inventor and more than 10 utility model patents. He has edited 3 monographs and co-edited 3 others. He has won multiple awards, including the First Class Award of Science and Technology Progress of China Environmental Protection Federation, the Second Class Award of Science and Technology Progress of China Machinery Industry Federation, the Second Class Award of Innovation of Invention and Entrepreneurship Award of China Invention Association, the Third Class Award of Science and Technology Progress of China National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, the Special Class Award of Petroleum Higher Education Teaching Achievement (Undergraduate) of China Petroleum Education Association, and the First and Second Class Awards of Beijing Higher Education Teaching Achievement.

I mainly recruit academic master's students in Environmental Science and Engineering (0830) and professional master's students in Resources and Environment (0857). I sincerely welcome students with backgrounds in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Soil Science and other related majors who are willing to take challenges, innovate, have good scientific research literacy and high English proficiency to join the team.

The team has established substantive cooperation with national-level research institutions (e.g., Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Soil Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment), central enterprises (e.g., CNPC, Sinopec), and leading industry enterprises (e.g., Beijing Construction Engineering Remediation Co., Ltd.). Graduate students are jointly guided by industry experts.
