Shenghong Zhang, male, born in 1982. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Zhengzhou University in 2005, and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Peking University in 2010. From 2010 to 2013, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute for Molecular Science in Japan. Since 2013, he has been working at the "Enze Biomass Fine Chemicals Beijing Key Laboratory" in the College of Chemical Engineering, and was promoted to Associate Professor at the end of 2015.
During his doctoral studies, he mainly focused on selective oxidation of light alkanes and small molecule alcohols. After becoming an independent researcher, he first conducted fundamental research on methane catalytic reforming at the Institute for Molecular Science in Japan, and then worked on value-added utilization technologies for waste oils and C4 mixed hydrocarbons at the "Enze Biomass Fine Chemicals Beijing Key Laboratory". Currently, his research focuses on green catalytic reaction technologies and reaction mechanisms for the directional conversion of biomass-based renewable polyols into high-value products. He has presided over 1 National Natural Science Foundation project, 1 Beijing Natural Science Foundation project, and 2 Beijing Municipal Education Commission (Science and Technology Commission) research projects, while also teaching "Physical Chemistry" and "Physical Chemistry Experiments" at the "Basic Chemistry Theory and Experiment Teaching Center". His main research achievements since becoming an independent researcher are as follows:
