Beijing Key Laboratory of Clean Fuel and High-efficiency Catalytic Emission Reduction Technology

? Profile

Recognized as a municipal key laboratory by Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission in 2016, the Beijing Key Laboratory of Clean Fuel and High-efficiency Catalytic Emission Reduction Technology builds on the solid research foundation and advanced facilities of Beijing Key Discipline of Chemical Technology. Guided by the theories of eco-industry and circular economy, the laboratory keeps track of cutting-edge advances in high-efficiency catalytic energy conservation and emission reduction. In response to the demands of vehicle exhaust governance and eco-friendly petrochemical processes in Beijing, it conducts applied basic research and process development covering four core research areas: clean fuel and novel catalytic materials, high-efficiency catalytic conversion of low-carbon hydrocarbons, eco-friendly petrochemical catalysts and processes, as well as industrial flue gas pollution control and catalytic emission reduction technologies.

Integrating knowledge of green chemistry & chemical engineering, industrial catalysis, reaction engineering and process optimization, the laboratory carries out in-depth research on mechanisms, methodologies, core technologies, industrial applications and achievement transformation of coupled catalysis and reactions, including deep hydrodesulfurization, non-hydrodesulfurization, olefin and aromatics reduction, conversion and utilization of low-carbon fuels, clean petrochemical processes, and deep desulfurization & denitrification of industrial flue gas. It fosters innovative teams and high-caliber talents to continuously upgrade its overall academic standing. Professor Jin Haibo serves as the Laboratory Director, while Hua Wei, former Secretary-General of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, chairs the Academic Committee.

? Research Team

The laboratory houses 3 Beijing Municipal Scientific & Technological Innovation Teams or Academic Innovation Teams, 1 team supported by Beijing High-level Talent Introduction Program and 1 Great Wall Scholar Team. It boasts 4 academic and technical leaders from Sinopec system, 2 Beijing Municipal Top Academic Talents, 1 Great Wall Scholar and 6 Beijing Young and Middle-aged Backbone Teachers. At present, the team consists of 9 professors and 9 associate professors, among which over 90% of researchers hold doctoral degrees.
