Electrical Engineering and Automation
? Beijing Municipal Featured Major
? Pilot Major of the Innovation Experimental Zone for the "Engineering Regression" Talent Training Mode in Mechanical and Electrical Majors under the Ministry of Education
Educational Objectives
This major aims to cultivate high-quality applied engineering and technical talents who possess solid basic theories, strong engineering practice capabilities, good professional ethics, and a strong sense of social responsibility, along with a certain degree of innovative awareness and technological development capabilities. These talents will be capable of engaging in system design and development, operation and maintenance, as well as operation and management in fields related to Electrical Engineering and Automation.
Cultivation Characteristics
Based on the training orientation, social demands and other factors, this major has gradually improved and established a training direction that focuses on Power Supply and Distribution Technology, while also covering electrical detection and metro power supply. The major boasts a highly qualified teaching staff who are dedicated to their work and have a well-balanced academic background and age structure. Middle-aged and young teachers account for 90% of the total number of full-time teachers and all of them hold doctoral degrees. There are six specialized laboratories, namely, the Power Electronics and Electric Drive Laboratory, the Motor Laboratory, the Electrical Control and PLC Laboratory, the Relay Protection Laboratory, the Electrical Measurement and Virtual Instrument Laboratory, and the Power System Simulation Laboratory. At the same time, we have jointly established an off-campus talent cultivation base with Yanshan Petrochemical and an internship base with Beijing Metro Power Supply Company. Professional teachers actively organize students to participate in various extracurricular science and technology activities, and have achieved excellent results in national college students' electronic design competitions and other events.
