In line with the institute's mission of "focusing on advantageous research areas related to urban safety operation and serving the major needs of high-quality development in the capital and its industries", the program is committed to cultivating high-quality, application-oriented talents who possess a strong sense of social responsibility, solid scientific and cultural literacy, a systematic mastery of fundamental theories and professional knowledge in safety production supervision, as well as innovative thinking and practical engineering skills, and who achieve well-rounded development in morality, intellect, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor.

Program Advantages: The program is precisely oriented toward cultivating talents in safety production supervision. It innovatively integrates the disciplines of safety engineering, emergency management, law, and management, forming a deeply interdisciplinary framework. A three-dimensional talent training system is established to develop professionals who possess a solid understanding of regulations, management, and technology. Focusing on the entire process of safety production, the program emphasizes the development of core competencies in safety supervision and law enforcement. It aims to strengthen students' professional knowledge and practical abilities in risk control and hazard identification, disaster prevention and emergency management, as well as safety supervision and enforcement. This major is distinguished by its commitment to supporting the modernization of the national safety production governance system and governance capacity.
Excellent Faculty Team: The program has established a high-level faculty team with a well-balanced structure and extensive practical experience. The faculty members come from multiple fields, including safety engineering, emergency management, law, and management. The team includes dual-qualified instructors with frontline experience in safety production supervision and law enforcement, as well as hands-on experience in emergency response. It also features experts and scholars who have long been engaged in safety production policy research and regulatory development, providing solid theoretical support and rich practical cases for teaching. The faculty team includes 2 doctoral supervisors and 20 master's supervisors, along with 1 Young Academic Leader in Emergency Management of Beijing, 2 recipients of the Beijing Outstanding Individual Award in Work Safety, 1 Outstanding Young Engineer of Beijing, and 6 Beijing Work Safety Experts. Among the faculty members, 65.4% hold senior professional titles, and 88% possess doctoral degrees. The team demonstrates strong capabilities in both teaching and scientific research.
Academic Platforms: Relying on the institute's advantageous research resources in urban safety operation, the program has established a series of specialized laboratories, including the Urban Gas Safety Operation Simulation Laboratory, Process Safety Laboratory, Combustion and Explosion Laboratory, Safety Ergonomics Laboratory, Industrial Ventilation and Dust Control Laboratory, Gas Chromatography Laboratory, Chemical Safety Laboratory, Laboratory for Testing and Evaluation of Physical Hazards of Chemicals, and Oxidizing Substances Testing Laboratory. The facilities are equipped with advanced instructional tools such as accident investigation and analysis equipment, and safety supervision information systems. These resources provide students with an immersive, scenario-based practical training environment.
Curriculum System: The curriculum system is centered on "solid theoretical foundations, strong practical orientation, and interdisciplinary integration", and is structured into three tiers: fundamental theories, professional core courses, and practical skill training. The foundational tier consolidates general knowledge in mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering fundamentals. The professional core tier focuses on the essential competencies of safety production supervision, covering key areas such as laws and regulations, supervisory techniques, and accident handling. The practical skills tier strengthens students' hands-on abilities through training courses, project-based learning, and simulated law enforcement. In addition, industry-related competitions, social practice programs, and research projects in the field of safety production are integrated into the curriculum to enhance students' problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking, thereby cultivating application-oriented talents who meet industry needs.
Practical Teaching: Practical teaching is integrated throughout the entire talent training process. The program has jointly established multiple off-campus practical training bases with the Beijing Municipal and District Emergency Management Bureaus, leading enterprises in key industries, and third-party safety technology service institutions. Together, these resources form a comprehensive practical training platform that combines on-campus training with off-campus practice. On campus, relying on the professional training platform, the program offers practical training projects such as the preparation of administrative law enforcement documents for work safety, the design of supervision platforms, and simulated accident investigations. Off campus, through institute-industry cooperative bases, students participate in frontline internships in safety supervision and law enforcement, enterprise safety management practice, and joint emergency response drills. Meanwhile, the program advances a dual-driven model of "academic competitions + social practice", encouraging students to take part in work safety knowledge contests, emergency response skill competitions, and public safety awareness campaigns, thereby enhancing their practical and application-oriented capabilities in an all-round manner.
