Cultivation Characteristics

The Event and Communication is an undergraduate program that serves the strategic needs of Beijing's development as a global center city. This program is oriented towards the demand for event and communication talents and international event talents in the capital. Its objective is to cultivate applied event and communication talents, with the ability to undertake three aspects of qualities: exhibition activity planning and design, exhibition activity communication and marketing, and exhibition activity coordination and execution.

Through professional study, students can engage in specialized work in exhibition design, event planning, marketing communication, public relations management, etc. in exhibition industries, public relations, tourism, cultural media, industry associations, government agencies, public institutions, and charitable organizations.

Faculty & Staff

? A Multidisciplinary Teaching Team Focusing on the requirements of interdisciplinary talent cultivation, the program has broken down departmental boundaries to integrate faculty resources. The team consists of 17 full-time teachers with educational backgrounds spanning 7 first-level disciplines. Among them, 6 teachers possess interdisciplinary academic backgrounds, and 4 have overseas study experience. The faculty structure includes 1 Professor, 6 Associate Professors, 11 PhD holders, and 6 Master's degree holders. Notably, 11 members are under the age of 45, accounting for 64% of the team, creating a high-level, multidisciplinary faculty.

? A Teaching Team Integrating Industry, Education, and Research to ensure high-quality program development, a core teaching and research team has been established. By advancing industry-university-research cooperation projectssuch as the "Capital Event Industry College"the team has significantly enhanced its industrial capabilities. The 9 core members have all led or participated in projects of prominent enterprises and public institutions, including the Beijing Capital Group Exhibition & Events, China Central Television, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), the Palace Museum, the Cyberspace Administration of Beijing, and the Daxing District Media Convergence Center.

? A Student-Centered Teaching Team. The team actively engages in teaching reform research, continuously optimizes talent cultivation schemes, and explores a teaching model characterized by "AI-digital dynamics and course-competition integration". Since 2022, this team has instructed students to win over 20 first prizes in top-tier discipline competitions. Furthermore, the team has received more than 10 teaching reform awards at the provincial and ministerial levels or above.

Teaching Resources

The program boasts premium internship and practical training platforms both on and off campus. On campus, facilities include the Cultural Academy, Art Theater, Art Studios, the Digital-Intelligent Humanities Multimodal Innovation Training Center, and the Digital Exhibition Laboratory. Additionally, the program features leisure and hospitality laboratories, such as a Craft Beer Workshop, Wine Tasting Laboratory, and student entrepreneurship Coffee Bar, to enhance students' understanding of event management.

Off campus, the program has established internship partnerships with specialized and international organizations, including RX (Reed Exhibitions), Capital Exhibition Group, China Smart MICE Group, Huayang Hengtong Exhibition, Daxing District Media Convergence Center, and Beijing Fashion Week Co., Ltd. Students have the opportunity to intern at foreign enterprises, large state-owned enterprises (SOEs), listed companies, industry associations, and foundations, gaining access to an integrated path from internship to employment.
