Cultivation Characteristics
This major is oriented around the needs of socialist modernization and national economic development. Upholding the concept of efficient and clean energy utilization, it emphasizes the interdisciplinary integration of "energy conversion–thermal system optimization–new power technology". This major adopts an application-oriented talent cultivation model focused on "solid fundamentals, strong practicality, innovative thinking, and comprehensive competence". The goal is to nurture high-quality engineering and technical professionals who have a solid grounding in engineering fundamentals, master the basic theories and professional skills of energy and power engineering, and possess sound humanistic literacy, professional ethics and social responsibility. Endowed with a proactive sense of innovation, robust engineering practice capabilities, and excellent interpersonal communication and cooperation skills, these talents can comprehensively apply the theories and expertise of energy and power engineering and related disciplines, and are competent for design, manufacturing, operation, management and marketing work in the fields of thermal power, refrigeration and air conditioning, urban heating, thermal equipment and new energy within energy and power engineering and its related areas.

Teaching Resources
Relying on the authorized master's degree program in energy and power engineering and three provincial-ministerial key institutions: the Beijing Key Laboratory of Key Technologies and Equipment for Deepwater Oil and Gas Pipelines, the Zhongguancun Institute of Industrial Technology for Energy Engineering and Intelligent Equipment, the Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Platform for Intelligent Manufacturing Technology and Equipment, as well as two university-level research hubs: the Institute of Energy Efficient Utilization and Clean Energy Engineering Application and the Hydrogen Energy Research Center, the program is bolstered by robust industry-academia collaboration platforms. These platforms consist of the national-level engineering practice education center co-built with Yanshan Petrochemical and the Clean Energy Industry College practice bases jointly established with over 20 enterprises and institutions such as Aerospace Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Aerospace Cangzhou Energy and Environmental Protection Innovation Research Institute, and Beijing Hadelis Technology Co., Ltd. It has pioneered a tiered talent development system integrating university, Beijing municipal, and national-level discipline competitions and undergraduate research training programs, achieving 100% student participation. Through the synergy of research-driven teaching, practice-oriented innovation, and industry-education integration, the program cultivates high-caliber professionals well-versed in energy and power engineering.
