Business Administration

The discipline of Business Administration is founded primarily on economics and behavioral science. It employs methodologies such as statistics, quantitative analysis, and case studies to investigate the formation processes, characteristics, and interrelationships of managerial behaviors and decisions within enterprises or economic organizations. The first-level discipline of Business Administration comprises four secondary specializations: Technology Economics and Management, Business Administration (Enterprise Management), Financial Management, and Tourism Management. Oriented towards serving major national and capital socioeconomic development needs, it has developed distinctive research strengths in Energy Development and Evaluation, Intellectual Capital and Management Innovation, Digital Intelligence Accounting and Auditing, and Tourism Planning and Service Management. The program tightly integrates talent cultivation, scientific research, and social services with regional economic and social requirements, yielding notable societal impact.

Business Administration is a key university-level discipline with distinctive strengths, encompassing four fields: Technology Economics and Management, Business Administration (Enterprise Management), Financial Management, and Tourism Management.

(1) Technology Economics and Management

Technology Economics and Management is a Beijing Municipal Key Construction Discipline, with "Energy Development and Evaluation" as its signature focus. Major research areas include technological economic evaluation of energy and environment, low-carbon energy development and risk assessment, and energy efficiency improvement with innovation in energy conservation management. Addressing the critical demands of the national dual-carbon strategy and leveraging platforms such as the Development Research Center of Beijing New Modern Industrial Area and the Capital Collaborative Innovation Center for Clean Energy Supply and Usage Security Technology, this specialization conducts research on key scientific issues including energy-environment low-carbon development evaluation and related policies, producing substantial outcomes. It provides scientific basis and decision-making support for government and the energy industry in formulating energy-environment strategies, development plans, and policies, playing a significant role in energy-environment policy consultation, market-oriented development of renewable energy, and corporate energy efficiency management and evaluation.

(2) Business Administration (Enterprise Management)

"Intellectual Capital and Management Innovation" is the hallmark of this specialization. Core research areas include human capital evaluation, organizational capital integration, and customer capital cultivation. Aligned with national innovation-driven development strategies and Beijing's high-end and precision industrial needs, and supported by platforms such as Beijing Higher Education Science and Technology Innovation Teams, postdoctoral workstations, and the Enterprise Development and Management Innovation Research Center, this field focuses on issues in human resources, knowledge management, brand management, and customer relationships. It integrates perspectives from strategic management, financial management, and marketing to produce a series of research outcomes. These results have played an important role in decision support, management consulting, and social services, generating considerable societal influence.

(3) Financial Management

"Digital Intelligence Accounting and Auditing" defines this specialization's distinctive character. Primary research domains are finance and investment, and governance and evaluation, investigating financial management theories and methodologies within the context of Chinese corporate practices featuring big data environments, new business models, and emerging capital markets. The focus lies on two key directions: carbon accounting, and green finance and investment. This includes research on the application of mechanisms such as carbon pricing, carbon credits, and carbon trading in corporate financial strategies, as well as studies on green bonds, green funds, and sustainable investment strategies.

(4) Tourism Management

"Tourism Planning and Service Management" is the distinctive feature of this specialization. Main research areas encompass tourism planning, tourism service management, and green tourism consumption. Addressing national needs for green, low-carbon, and circular economic development, and utilizing platforms like the Development Research Center of Beijing New Modern Industrial Area and the Tourism Innovation and Green Development Research Center, this field conducts research on core issues including holistic tourism development, tourism destination brand equity, tourism environmental management, and digital-intelligent tourism. It has produced a series of outcomes in tourism development planning, tourism industry revitalization, and green tourism operations. This specialization is dedicated to theoretical research and practical service in regional macro-tourism economics, providing decision-making support for tourism planning and management services to local governments, enterprises, and institutions, and playing a significant role in tourism and related sectors.
