School profile
The School of Information Engineering has academic master degree authorization units for the first discipline of control science and engineering, and professional master's degree authorization units for electronic information. They are importantly supporting disciplines of the Institute of Zhongguancun Energy Engineering Intelligent Equipment Industry Technology and the Capital Clean Energy (Oil and Gas) Supply and Use Security Technology Collaborative Innovation Center. The School currently has 2,100 undergraduate students and more than 150 postgraduate students. The total area of the laboratory is about 7,000 square meters, and the total value of experimental equipments is about 95 million RMB.
Over the years, the School of Information Engineering has taken discipline construction as a leading part and continuously improved the technological innovation ability. The discipline of control science and engineering is closely integrated with the needs of economic and social developments in Beijing, and has formed distinctive features in technical fields such as industrial control system safety, equipment operation diagnosis and safety, energy transportation safety, and dynamic modeling and simulation. The School has control system information security engineering laboratory, safety production intelligent perception and big data technology key laboratory. The school has three relatively stable subject research directions: complex process system control theory and application, robot technology and automation device, simulation modeling theory and technology, and many achievements have been applied to industrial control system information security demonstration project, armored equipment dynamic system intelligent failure diagnosis, mine space-time dynamic simulation and visualization and other major national projects. These projects have made important contributions to the development of the national intelligent industry and the economic construction of the capital.
Faculty
The School has a team of teachers who are united and enterprising, rigorous in academic research, and dedicated to their work. There are 84 faculty members, including 79 full-time teachers (7professors, 26 associate professors), 58 teachers hold doctoral degrees, 43 teachers are master supervisors. The school has 1 outstanding teaching team in Beijing, 1 Beijing scientific and technological innovation team, 2 advanced collectives in terms of professional ethics at the university level, and 2 advanced collectives at the university level. There are 1 National-level High-level Talent, 2 Beijing Municipal High-level Talent, 2 Beijing Municipal Teaching Masters, 3 young outstanding talents under the Beijing Municipal High-level University Faculty Support Program, 2 young talents supported by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology's Youth Talent Support Project, 5 Beijing Municipal Middle-aged and Young Backbone Teachers, and 2 "Most Beautiful Petrochemical Teacher".

The School has two experimental centers including the Electrical and Electronic Teaching and Experimental Center and the Information Technology Teaching and Experimental Center. Automation, computer science and technology are national first-class undergraduate majors, and both have passed the national engineering education professional certification. The majors of data science and big data technology and Internet of things engineering are municipal first-class undergraduate majors. Automation, computer science and technology, and communication engineering are the pilot majors of the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the ministry of education. Electrical engineering and automation is Beijing characteristic major. The School has 1 national-level engineering practice education center (co-constructed with Zhongguancun Software Park), 1 Beijing-level off-campus talent training base (co-constructed with Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Beijing-Guangzhou Metro), and 1 Beijing university experimental teaching demonstration center (Beijing electrical information technology experimental teaching demonstration center).
Student cultivation
Guided by the needs of Beijing's economic and social development, the School focuses on the new generation of information technology, and provides technological and talent support for Beijing's industrial transformation and upgrading. The School constructs a new system of "smart +" talent training capabilities, and implements an engineering application-oriented talent training model of "one main line of ability, two-level realization matrix, and three-stage cooperative education". The School cooperates with Zhongguancun Software Park, Yanshan Petrochemical, Chinese Software International Co., Ltd and other enterprises to jointly create a bright business card of the cradle of engineers in the premier region. In recent years, the School has won 1 second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award, 1 first prize and 2 second prizes of Beijing Municipal Teaching Achievement Award, and 1 second prize of China Higher Education Association Engineering Education Excellent Teaching Achievement Award.
The School has established an innovation and entrepreneurship education system of "four-year continuous line and full coverage of students", and actively encourages students to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship activities. In the past five years, students have participated in more than 200 undergraduate training (URT) projects, and many teacher-guided subject competitions in which a number of winners have made breakthroughs. The ratio of the number of participants to the total number of students has reached 60%. Among them, 1,749 awards have been awarded in competitions above the provincial level, and the number of awardees has reached 3,142, showing a trend of increasing year by year.
In order to meet the needs of international engineers in the new era and cultivate students with solid basic computer knowledge and basic skills, strong engineering ability, international vision and cross-cultural communication skills, the School cooperates with ERFEI PARIS in France, Columbus State University and University of Houston in the United States, Unilasalle-Amiens in France, Narvik University College in Norway, and have successively selected teachers and students to study abroad and study for master's or doctoral degrees. At the same time, the School selects students to carry out internships and graduation projects in overseas cooperative institutions, and accepts the same number of students to come to the School for graduation projects. In recent years, the School has cooperated with EFREI PARIS to establish the "China-France Engineer Experimental Class". Drawing on the advantages of French engineering education, a "3+2" joint training model has been adopted to achieve an integrated undergraduate and postgraduate education.
The engineering practice ability of graduates from the School of Information Engineering has been widely recognized by employers. The School has carried out in-depth cooperation with large and high-quality enterprises such as Beijing State Grid Electric Power Company, the Fifth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology, Beijing Metro Power Supply Company, Beijing Metro Communication and Signal Company, and Aerospace 503 institute to build a long-term working mechanism of effective cooperation and coordinated development. As a bridge for student communication, the employment rate and signing rate of graduates have always been in the forefront.
Scientific research
The School accurately grasps the development direction of intelligent detection and control technology, overcomes the scientific and technical problems in industrial system knowledge and data fusion-driven modeling, intelligent decision-making, intelligent execution, and intelligent fault diagnosis, make breakthroughs in the integration of artificial intelligence and other theories and cutting-edge technologies, carries out research on safety production monitoring and early warning, system simulation and visualization, etc. In the past five years, the School has undertaken more than 70 national key research and development projects, National Natural Science Foundation projects, Beijing Natural Science Foundation projects, and major horizontal projects. The School won 2 first prizes for scientific and technological progress of the China Petroleum and Chemical Automation Application Association, 1 first prize for safety production scientific and technological achievements of the State Administration of Work Safety, 1 second prize of Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 third prize of Chinese People's Liberation Army Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 second prize of the industry association's scientific and technological progress award. The School published more than 200 high-level scientific and technological papers in high-level core journals, and published more than 20 books and textbooks including 3 excellent textbooks in Beijing.
Cultural life
The School enriches students' campus life around culture and art, sports competition, style of study, social practice and other fields, and cultivates students in the new era with all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique, art and labor. The School cooperates with the Daxing District Science and Technology Association to build a high-level technology platform to improve students' practical ability. By applying what they have learned, the School serves the science and technology education of primary and secondary schools, and cultivates students' subjective initiative. The "Action Plan for Enhancing the Scientific Literacy of Rural Primary School Students in Daxing" was selected as part of the "Village Revitalization" Action Plan for teachers and students of capital universities. It was awarded the title of "Youth Serving the Country" summer social practice activity at the municipal level, and consecutively won the second and third prizes in the Beijing universities' Red "1+1" demonstration activities. It also became the first project from a capital university to be honored with the title of "Top Ten Youth League Building Brand Projects" by the Beijing Communist Youth League. The "Campus Singer Competition", "Chorus Competition", "Class Style Competition" and other activities give full play to students' strengths and cultivate students' sense of cooperation. The sports events such as the "Newborn Cup" and "May 4th Cup" show the strong physique of contemporary youth, and the heroic demeanor at the campus sports show the passionate of young people.
